The advance premium tax credit is based on the income you estimated for the year. A raise, a cut in hours, or a household change should be reported so the monthly credit stays close to the reconciliation.
Example: overtime that lasts three months can push estimated income up. The Marketplace may shrink the monthly credit. Figures are illustrative.
Call your licensed agent with the new income range. They update the Marketplace application. The portal billing page does not push that change.
Your licensed agent can read a deeper version in Field Notes: open the broker article.

What happens if I wait until I file taxes?
You may owe some or all of the advance credit back, or you may have left money on the table. Report the change when income moves, not only at tax time.
