Household help
Coverage, cards, and the portal in one place
Your licensed agent set up the QuoteTurbo household portal. These topics match the screens you see after the text code, plus common questions about ACA, Medicare, life, and supplemental plans.
Portal
- Sign in with your mobile numberThe household portal uses a one time text code. There is no password. Your licensed agent set up the account on the number they have on file.
- I did not get the text codeWait for the resend timer, confirm the 10 digit number, then request a new code. Carrier delay is common. Your agent can confirm the number on file.
- No agency found for this numberThe portal only opens when the mobile number matches a household your agency already set up. Call the agency that sold the coverage.
- More than one agency on one phoneIf two agencies have the same mobile number on file, pick the agency you want after the code is verified.
- What this portal showsPlans, ID cards, documents, alerts, and billing context your agency put on the QuoteTurbo household portal. It does not file claims or change payment cards.
- Find your plansOpen Policies to see ACA, Medicare, life, and supplemental coverage the agency attached to your household.
- Read a planOpen a policy to see who is covered, cost figures the agency recorded, and notes your agent left for the household.
- Find your ID cardsEach active plan can have a digital card. A reference card is generated for visits. An official card is the photo your agency or you uploaded.
- Save a card to Apple WalletOn iPhone you can add a pass for a digital ID card. Android Wallet is not in this portal.
- Upload card photosAdd the front and back of an official insurance card so your agency and you can open the same images later.
- Send a file your agency asked forDocuments lists pending requests. Upload a PDF or photo. Your agency sees it as soon as it lands.
- Who bills this planBilling shows whether the agency, Healthcare.gov, or the carrier collects the premium. You cannot update a card on file in the portal.
- Finish a signature requestWhen a signature is waiting, the portal opens the carrier or eSign link in a new tab. Allow popups. An expired link needs a new send from your agent.
- What alerts meanAlerts cover document requests, signatures, payment reminders, ID cards ready, and messages from your agency.
- Change address or household detailsProfile is read only so the portal stays in sync with the agency record. Call your licensed agent to change address, phone, or who lives in the home.
- Sign out vs remove portal accessSign out ends this browser session. Remove portal access only clears this device. Coverage does not change.
ACA
- Why did my monthly amount changeMarketplace premiums move when income, household size, or the benchmark plan changes. The portal shows what the agency recorded. Your agent confirms the live Marketplace figure.
- Deductible and out of pocket maxThe deductible is what you pay toward covered care before most plan coinsurance starts. The out of pocket max is the yearly ceiling for covered in network costs.
- I missed Open EnrollmentA Special Enrollment Period can open after a qualifying life event. Most windows are 60 days. Your licensed agent checks whether you qualify.
- Job loss and Marketplace coverageLosing job based coverage is a common qualifying event. You usually have 60 days to enroll on Healthcare.gov or a state Marketplace.
- Income change mid yearReport a raise, a drop in hours, or a household change so the advance credit stays close to what you will reconcile at tax time.
- Turning 26 and leaving a parent planDependent coverage on a parent plan usually ends the month you turn 26. That can open a Marketplace window. Call the agent on the household record.
- Preventive care at $0 cost sharingMany recommended preventive services have no copay when you use an in network provider. This is not a guarantee for every visit or test.
- Form 1095-A at tax timeIf you had Marketplace coverage, the Marketplace sends Form 1095-A. You use it with Form 8962. Your agent can help you read the form. A tax preparer files it.
- ID card not in the mail yetDigital cards often appear in a carrier or household portal within a few days of the plan starting. A plastic card can take one to two weeks.
Medicare
- Marketplace vs Medicare at 65Turning 65 is usually a Medicare enrollment window. Marketplace APTC generally stops once you have Medicare. Your licensed agent maps the dates.
- Extra Help for Part DExtra Help is a federal low income subsidy for Medicare prescription drug costs. Eligibility is income and resource based. Your agent can screen, not award it.
- Medicare Advantage extra benefitsMany Advantage plans advertise dental, vision, or OTC cards. What you get is the plan Evidence of Coverage, not a brochure headline.
- Medigap Plan G vs Plan NPlan G and Plan N are standardized Medicare Supplement letters. They pay differently after Original Medicare. Your agent compares letters for your state.
- When you can change Medicare coverageInitial enrollment, the fall Annual Enrollment Period, trial rights, and some Special Enrollment Periods are the usual doors. Dates are federal. Your agent confirms yours.
- Red, white, and blue card vs Advantage cardOriginal Medicare uses the federal red, white, and blue card. An Advantage plan issues its own card. Bring the card that matches the coverage you are using that day.
Life
- Portability vs conversion after a job endsGroup life often offers a short window to keep coverage. Portability and conversion are different products and different prices. The clock is usually 31 days.
- Owner, insured, and beneficiaryThe owner controls the policy. The insured is the life the policy covers. The beneficiary is who the carrier pays. They are not always the same person.
- Update a beneficiary after divorceA divorce decree does not always change a life beneficiary on its own. Ask your agent to start a carrier change form.
- Term conversion privilegeSome term policies let you convert to permanent coverage without new medical underwriting, inside a stated window. Read the policy or ask your agent.
- How a life claim usually startsCall the agency and the carrier. You will need a death certificate and the policy number. The portal does not file life claims.
Supplements
- A hospital indemnity plan is not major medicalHospital indemnity pays a fixed amount per day or stay. It does not replace an ACA Marketplace or employer medical plan.
- Dental, vision, and accident plansThese products are often excepted benefits. They sit beside medical coverage. They do not satisfy the requirement to have minimum essential coverage.
- How to use a supplemental policyFile with the supplemental carrier using their claim form and the hospital or accident paperwork. Your medical plan is a separate claim.
- Waiting periods and pre-existing limitsSome supplemental policies wait before they pay for certain conditions. That is a contract rule, not a Marketplace rule. Ask your agent to read the outline of coverage.
