A divorce decree does not always rewrite a life beneficiary. The name on the carrier record is what the claim pays unless a statute or a court order the carrier accepted says otherwise.
Call your licensed agent with the decree date and the policy number. They send the carrier change form. The household portal cannot file that form.
Do this before a lapse or a conversion deadline. A stale beneficiary is a common claim fight.
